Orlando Herrera was born in 1979 in Albuquerque, New Mexico but grew up in Tijeras, New Mexico. He graduated from Moriarty High School in 1996. He is a self-taught artist, and his inspiration comes from his family consisting of many musicians and artists. He started off practicing the saxophone and the piano but quickly fell in love with visual art instead when he got to middle school.
In 1995 he had an art piece featured in the "Lowrider Art Magazine" along with one in the New Mexico State fair, these pieces would be the beginning of a long and passionate journey exploring art. Most recently (2025), he has had a piece featured in both the Fusion Art Galler and the Old Walls Gallery, and he now has a piece that is a part of the New Mexico Art Collection. In 2004 He started learning to airbrush which is now the main art medium he uses for most of his current works. He has done a few small murals but mostly sticks to airbrush paintings. But that doesn't mean he confines himself to just one medium, no, he still enjoys creating art with some of the materials he started out with before discovering airbrushing such as: pencil, colored pencils, and pen.
